Grantorino Sofa
Proof Living is an authorised dealer. Purchasing through parallel importers can void warranty, installation and after-sales support.
GranTorino is a sofa that manages to combine compact, well-calibrated volumes, which minimise its overall dimensions, with extremely comfortable seats. The structure is in tubular metal with woven elastic belts. The backrests and armrests are made from birch plywood panel. The seat is padded with variable density CFC-free polyurethane foam and pressed felt. The backrest cushions are padded with goose down and have separate horizontal chambers to provide varied, ergonomic comfort. The feet are in titanium-coloured aluminium. The GranTorino sofa can be upholstered entirely in Pelle FrauĀ® leather or in the options that combine multiple materials.

Meet The Designer
Jean-Marie Massaud
Born in Toulouse in 1966, Jean-Marie Massaud graduated in 1990 from Les Ateliers, Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle, Paris. He began to work both in Asia and in France, finally opening his own office in Paris in 1994. Since then, he has dedicated himself to industrial and furniture design, building important relationships with brands such as Authentics, Baccarat and Magis.
His collaboration with Marc Berthier and his work in the field of town planning led him towards design and architecture. He is concerned with design in various contexts, industrial products and furniture. His contextual approach centres on research into the essential, within which the individual remains the centre of attention. It is a work upheld by research into the senses, magic, and vital emotion which brings him to work with very different brands: Cassina, Poltrona Frau, Cappellini, Cacharel, Lancôme, Tronconi and Yamaha offshore.
His works have been awarded several prizes and many of his designs are nowadays on show in the design collections of major museums worldwide: from Amsterdam, Chicago, London, Paris and Zurich: from the permanent collection of the Musée National d'Art Moderne de Paris to the permanent collections of the Museum für Gestaltung, Zürich, of The Chicago Athenaeum- Museum of Architecture and Design, of The Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam and of The Musée des arts Décoratifs, Paris.
know the brand
Poltrona Frau
Noted for their exhaustive quality standards, the company uses a 21-step leather tanning process (vs. industry standard ranging from 12-15 steps) where the full-grain leather is dyed through, so a surface scratch wonāt reveal a lining underneath. 95% of Poltrona Frauās products are made by hand.
The Pelle FrauĀ® leather tanning processes are exclusively combined with chrome treatments, which guarantee greater chemical and biological stability, to preserve the softness and flexibility of the leathers. Selected and produced by the finest quality Italian tanneries, Pelle FrauĀ® leather is only āadmittedā to the production process after it has passed a series of tests in the Poltrona Frau laboratories: from sensory tests to evaluate its hand, touch, colour, appearance and choice, to physical and mechanical tests that guarantee its impermeability, breathability and resistance to rubbing and stains.
