Peek-A-Book Large Desk
Peek-A-Book Large Desk
Proof Living is an authorised dealer. Purchasing through parallel importers can void warranty, installation and after-sales support.
The Peek-a-Book large desk consists of an extremely simple sheet of poplar plywood covered in Pelle Frau® leather which is curved and folded in two to form the base and the desktop, as well as to accommodate two drawers. The base structure consists of an easel made from triangular-section solid ash in a moka or wenge stain which forms three trapezium-shaped supports connected to each other with fine joints created in the wood. The front of the two drawers is in MDF covered in Pelle Frau® leather matching the upholstery of the top, while the internal structure is made from solid ash in a wenge stain. The upholstery of the top is produced using a particular covering technique without any visible stitching. Behind the two central drawers, the Peek-a-Book desk has two side flaps that conceal a hollow space. The compartments are designed to act as a conduit for cables and can be used to house multi-sockets or electric cables with Schuko or USB. It is also possible to install a smartphone induction charger under the leather upholstery of the desktop, as suggested by the branded logo.

Meet The Designer
Roberto Lazzeroni
Roberto Lazzeroni, born in Pisa, began his professional life with the study of art and architecture in Florence and the interests he developed during his training, in particular in the conceptual art and radical design movements. In the early 1980s, Lazzeroni made his professional debut with a series of important works in the field of “interior architecture” that immediately attracted attention and were published in Italian and foreign periodicals.
know the brand
Poltrona Frau
Noted for their exhaustive quality standards, the company uses a 21-step leather tanning process (vs. industry standard ranging from 12-15 steps) where the full-grain leather is dyed through, so a surface scratch won’t reveal a lining underneath. 95% of Poltrona Frau’s products are made by hand.
The Pelle Frau® leather tanning processes are exclusively combined with chrome treatments, which guarantee greater chemical and biological stability, to preserve the softness and flexibility of the leathers. Selected and produced by the finest quality Italian tanneries, Pelle Frau® leather is only “admitted” to the production process after it has passed a series of tests in the Poltrona Frau laboratories: from sensory tests to evaluate its hand, touch, colour, appearance and choice, to physical and mechanical tests that guarantee its impermeability, breathability and resistance to rubbing and stains.
