The Volare Due bed has a triangular profile in solid ash wood with moka finish. The bed frame is in tulipwood and entirely upholstered in Cuoio Saddle Extra or Pelle Frau® leather, just like the headboard, which is made of solid beech with internal crossbars in birch plywood and infill with hardboard panels. The headboard is attached to the structure using metal spacers with gunmetal grey finish and held in place using plates with the same finish. The central crossbar and leg, corner plates and cable brackets are made from black painted steel sheet metal. Two soft and sumptuous pillows, padded with polyester wadding and cotton canvas, are attached to the headboard via two leather belts. On the front of the headboard the belts pass through a metal eyelet with gunmetal grey finish and are fixed to the back by buttons also with a gunmetal grey finish and the Poltrona Frau logo. The cushions are upholstered in Pelle Frau® leather or fabric refined with leather border piping.

Roberto Lazzeroni
Roberto Lazzeroni, born in Pisa, began his professional life with the study of art and architecture in Florence and the interests he developed during his training, in particular in the conceptual art and radical design movements. In the early 1980s, Lazzeroni made his professional debut with a series of important works in the field of “interior architecture” that immediately attracted attention and were published in Italian and foreign periodicals.

Noted for their exhaustive quality standards, the company uses a 21-step leather tanning process (vs. industry standard ranging from 12-15 steps) where the full-grain leather is dyed through, so a surface scratch won’t reveal a lining underneath. 95% of Poltrona Frau’s products are made by hand.
The Pelle Frau® leather tanning processes are exclusively combined with chrome treatments, which guarantee greater chemical and biological stability, to preserve the softness and flexibility of the leathers. Selected and produced by the finest quality Italian tanneries, Pelle Frau® leather is only “admitted” to the production process after it has passed a series of tests in the Poltrona Frau laboratories: from sensory tests to evaluate its hand, touch, colour, appearance and choice, to physical and mechanical tests that guarantee its impermeability, breathability and resistance to rubbing and stains.
