Times Lounge Armchair
Times Lounge Armchair
Proof Living is an authorised dealer. Purchasing through parallel importers can void warranty, installation and after-sales support.
The design principles that made the Times bed unique are revisited in the Times Lounge armchair to create a timeless seat which combines an advanced construction technique with understated and mellow contemporary aesthetics. Designed by Spalvieri & Del Ciotto for Poltrona Frau, the Times Lounge armchair has a sophisticated and ultra-light structure and a cover which naturally assumes its forms like a tailored suit, making it soft and welcoming. The Times Lounge pouf follows the same conceptual lines. The end product is an item designed to complement the armchair and further enhance the experience of comfort, but it is also able to stand alone and be used as a temporary seat.
The structure of the Times Lounge armchair is made from solid ash. The wood has a visible circular cross section and an oval cross section for the lower connecting beams. The armchair cushion support embraces the wooden structure and is made from Pelle Frau® leather. A supporting technical textile located under the seat acts as a spring. The seat and backrest cushions are padded with polyurethane foam and polyester wadding while the armrests are padded with polyester wadding. The lining of the backrest and armrest cushions is stitched as a single element, the lining of the seat cushion is separate and attached to the rest of the lining. The cushions are secured to the structure using hidden zips and snap buttons. The cushions can also be covered with Pelle Frau® leather or fabric. In both cases the cover can be removed. An additional cover can be purchased separately. The Times Lounge products are made of FSC™ 100%-certified wood.

know the brand
Poltrona Frau
Noted for their exhaustive quality standards, the company uses a 21-step leather tanning process (vs. industry standard ranging from 12-15 steps) where the full-grain leather is dyed through, so a surface scratch won’t reveal a lining underneath. 95% of Poltrona Frau’s products are made by hand.
The Pelle Frau® leather tanning processes are exclusively combined with chrome treatments, which guarantee greater chemical and biological stability, to preserve the softness and flexibility of the leathers. Selected and produced by the finest quality Italian tanneries, Pelle Frau® leather is only “admitted” to the production process after it has passed a series of tests in the Poltrona Frau laboratories: from sensory tests to evaluate its hand, touch, colour, appearance and choice, to physical and mechanical tests that guarantee its impermeability, breathability and resistance to rubbing and stains.
